The New Orleans Police Department saw five crimes hit the city on Wednesday (9.13). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to a stabbing, a rape, and three simple robberies.
49-year-old Kathy Burton was arrested following an aggravated battery incident on the 3600 block of Bennett St. At 6:10AM, Burton was involved in a verbal altercation with a 56-year-old man. At some point during the encounter, Burton armed herself with a knife. The man grabbed the blade of the knife and sustained a cut. He was treated on scene by EMS.
An unknown man entered the McDonald's on the 3400 block of S. Carrollton Ave. and placed an order at 9:15PM. The cashier opened the register, at which time he changed his order which caused the cashier to become confused. The subject then reached into the register and grabbed cash before fleeing.
A 26-year-old woman was on her petty cab when she was approached by an unknown man on the 1300 block of Royal St. at 9:28PM. The subject grabbed her at the waist, took her fanny pack, and then fled.
At 4:48AM, an unknown woman was sexually assaulted at the intersection of S. Rampart St. and Canal St.
