Overnight Crime Report: Two Simple Robberies, Shooting, Suicide

The New Orleans Police Department saw seven crimes hit the city on Monday (9.11). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to a suicide, a shooting, and two simple robberies. 


NOPD officers responded to an incident on the 1500 block of Joliet St. At 8:32AM, officers discovered a 54-year-old man inside of his residence unresponsive from an apparent overdose. He was pronounced on scene by EMS. 


While walking down the 2400 block of General Taylor St., an 18-year-old male was shot by an unknown subjec,t who fired "several shots" at him at 6:00PM. He was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown. 


At 11:06PM, a 30-year-old man was standing outside of a bar on the 1900 block of Kerlerec St. when a male subject on a bicycle grabbed his fanny pack and fled. 


At 4:18AM, a 22-year-old male was approached by an unknown man in an SUV on the 400 block of Julia St. The 22-year-old accepted a ride to his hotel, got into the car with the man, who was a passenger, and a female driver. At some point during the driver, the man struck the victim in the face and stole $100 cash, a cell pone, debit card, credit cards, and his shoes.
