The New Orleans Police Department saw four crimes hit the city on Thursday (9.7). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to two armed robberies, a rape, and an attempted armed robbery.
At 10:45AM, a 37-year-old man was approached by an unknown armed man on the 300 block of Basin St. The subject demanded his money, and the man complied. The perp made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
At 12:19PM, a 17-year-old female was sexually assaulted by a known male on the 400 block of O’Bannon St.
At the intersection of S. Broad St. and Banks St., a 32-year-old man was sitting in his car. At 1:06PM, a unknown woman got into his car, pulled out a semi-automatic gun, and ordered the man to drive her to a location while going the through his pockets. A struggle ensued and the woman fled at S. Broad and Erato St. without any of his property.
At 1:08AM, an unknown man on a bicycle approached a 51-year-old man at the intersection of Simon Bolivar Ave. and Josephine St. The subject ordered the man to hand over his property, and the man complied. The perp fled with his wallet and cigarettes.
