The New Orleans Police Department saw five crimes hit the city on Tuesday (9.5). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to two fatalities, rape, attempted armed robbery, and an unclassified death.
At 4:59AM, an unknown female was crossing the intersection of S. Claiborne Ave. and Gen. Taylor St. when she was struck by a Chevy Avalanche. She was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.
A 68-year-old man was found unresponsive inside a location on the 500 block of Bienville St. at 12:22PM. He was pronounced on scene by EMS. No suspected cause of death was reported in the MOL.
A 32-year-old man was approached by two men on the 600 block of Loyola Ave at 1:54PM. One of the subjects produced a knife and demanded the man’s backpack. He refused, at which time an altercation occurred. The two perps fled. The victim sustained stab wounds and his current condition is unknown.
31-year-old Antonio Hernandez was arrested following a fatality on the 9400 block of Haynes Blvd. At 11:38PM, Hernandez allegedly hit the back of an unknown man’s motorcycle, resulting in a death.
At 3:26PM on the 2600 block of New Orleans St., the NOPD learned that a known juveniles was sexually assaulted eight years ago by a known male.
