Overnight Crime Report: Two Unclassified Deaths, Rape, Suicide, Three Simple Robberies, Three Stabbings

The New Orleans Police Department saw ten crimes hit the city on Wednesday (8.30). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to two unclassified deaths, rape, suicide, three simple robberies, and three stabbings. 


At 6:14AM, a 1-month-old female was found unresponsive on the 3300 block of Thalia St. 


At 9:19AM, a 6-year-old female was sexually assaulted by a known subject on the 2100 block of Springbrook Ln. 


A 31-year-old man was found unresponsive at 8:24AM inside of his car on the 1800 of Kerlerec St. from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced on scene by EMS. 


A 19-year-old female went to her ex-boyfriend’s house on the 7100 block of Yorktown Dr. at 5:42PM to get her property. When she got a text message, the man grabbed the phone out of her hand and fled. 


At 7:46PM, a 77-year-old woman was approached by an unknown man on the 1000 block of Camp St. He grabbed two bags out of her hand and fled. 


27-year-old Valneke Raymond was arrested following a cutting incident on the 6800 block of Parc Brittany. At 8:51PM, Raymond and a 25-year-old woman got into a fight over a parking spot. At some point during the altercation, Raymond allegedly stabbed the woman with a kitchen knife. She was brought to the hospital, where she is listed in good condition. 


At 9:34PM, a 34-year-old man was found by his roommate unresponsive in a shower at their residence on the 3200 block of Milan St. He was pronounced on scene by EMS. 


A 26-year-old woman was on the 400 block of Pelican Ave. when she was approached by an unknown man on a bicycle at 9:40PM. The man demanded her purse. When she refused, the duo got into a physical altercation before the perp was able to grab her purse and flee the scene. 


51-year-old Whitfield Hudson was arrested following a cutting at the intersection of Magazine St. and Calliope St. At 10:32PM, Hudson allegedly stabbed a 48-year-old man twice. The victim was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown. 


At 2:38AM, a 51-year-old man was approached by a male panhandler on the 7900 block of Chef Menteur Hwy. The two men got into a verbal and physical altercation, at which time the subject stabbed the 51-year-old with a pocket knife and fled the location.
