The New Orleans Police Department saw four crimes hit the city on Tuesday (8.29). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to an unclassified death, armed robbery, attempted rape, and a simple robbery.
At 7:47AM, an unknown male was found unresponsive by a friend on the 600 block of O’Keefe Ave. He was pronounced on scene by EMS.
While getting on their car on the 1400 block of Bartholomew St., a 29-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were approached by an unknown armed man at 12:47AM/ The man had an unknown object — “possibly a pipe” — in his hand, and demanded their property. The couple complied and the perp fled with a cell phone and two wallets.
At 2:49AM, an unknown male attempted to sexually assault a known juvenile female on the 2600 block of New Orleans St.
A 55-year-old man was approached on the 2200 block of Canal St. by a man on a dark-colored 10-speed bicycle at 5:53AM. The man on the bike demanded the victim’s beer, and pushed the 55-year-old in the chest. The man attempted to grab his beer, and the perp pushed the man to the ground, took the beer, and fled on his bike.
