The New Orleans Police Department saw three crimes hit the city on Monday (8.28). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to an unclassified death, a rape, and an armed robbery.
At 12:02PM, a 36-year-old man was founding unresponsive, face down on the floor of a residence on the 4200 block of Joycelyn Dr. by his mother. He was pronounced on scene by EMS.
At 5:13PM, a known female was sexually assaulted by a known male on the 7800 block of Michigan St.
The Empress Hotel on the 1300 block of Ursulines Ave. was victim to an armed robbery. At 1:11AM, an unknown woman entered the hotel and asked a 60-year-old female employee if there was a vacant room available for rent. The subject then drew a black handgun and demanded money from the hotel employee, who complied and handed over an unspecified amount of money. The perp then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
