Overnight Crime Report: Unclassified Death, Two Cuttings, Two Muggings

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) only had to respond to five incidents in the last 24 hours according to the Major Offense Log (MOL). The MOL contained an unclassified death, two cuttings, and two muggings.

 

Police reported finding a man dead inside of his house on the 4000 block of North Robertson Street at 12:46p.m. The cause of death was listed as unclassified.

 

43-year-old Karen Scott was arrested for Domestic Aggravated Battery by Cutting at 12:47p.m. Scott is accused of stabbing a 22-year-old woman during a fight on the 2300 block of Magic Street.

 

At 9:27p.m., a 29-year-old woman was unloading her car on the 600 block of North Alexander Street when a stranger walked up and demanded her car keys stated the NOPD. A Department spokesperson said that the victim handed over the keys and then the perp and an accomplice hopped in the auto and drove off.

 

Authorities stated four men, all 22-years-old, were mugged by two armed men on the 2500 block of Esplanade Avenue around 2:16a.m. Wallets and cell phones were listed as the stolen goods.

 

25-year-old Jasmine Platt was arrested for Aggravated Battery (Cutting) at 4:12a.m. Platt is accused of stabbing a 27-year-old man on the 12100 block of the N. I-10 Service Road after an argument turned ugly.
