Overnight Crime Report: Two Rapes, Stabbing, Home Invasion, Armed Robberies

Two rapes, four Armed Robberies, a home invasion, a stabbing and an unclassified death kept the New Orlean Police Department (NOPD) busy yesterday according to the Major offense Log (MOL) for Wednesday (4.27).


59-year-old allegedly kicked in the door of a 52-year-old former girlfriend’s house on the 2100 block of St. Roch Avenue at 7:22a.m. NOPD PIO Dawne Massey said that he pointed a gun at the victim, beat her, stole 250 dollars in cash, and then fled.


At 11:20a.m., a 24-year-old man pulled over on Michoud Boulevard about six blocks short of Adventure Street to find something that fell out of his pocket according to authorities. Police reported that a band of criminals pulled up behind him and forced the driver to hand over 300 dollars in cash.


At 4:45p.m., a 58-year-old man was found dead by property management on the floor of his bedroom on the 3300 block of Clara Street.


Two unrelated rapes were included in the MOL. A 70-year-old woman reported being raped on the 2000 block of Adams Street at 6:42p.m. A 20-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted by a 23-year-old woman at 5:29p.m. on the 1300 block of Peniston Street.


At 11:02p.m., two men dressed all in black, one wearing a black mask, the other wearing a white mask, allegedly shot a 21-year-old man on the 7800 block of Shamrock Drive. The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment.


At 11:11p.m., a 20-year-old man was approached by three muggers after he got off of a bus on the 7000 block of Huntington explained Massey. She said that a second, 21-year-old, man then walked over and the suspects demanded his valuables as well. Loot in hand, the perps fled in a dark blue vehicle down Crowder towards Morrison.


At 11:26p.m., a 28-year-old man was mugged at gunpoint at the intersection of Dreux Avenue and Downman Road according to the MOL.


40-year-old Michael Jordan was arrested for Aggravated Battery. Jordan is accused of a stabbing a 48-year-old man after an argument on the 1600 block of Washington Avenue turned violent at 2:141a.m.
