Free agent deals can not be made official until Wednesday (3.09) at 3:00p.m. However, the Saints’ tight end carousel is already spinning again. A year after the shocking departure of Jimmy Graham, his replacement Ben Watson is leaving the Crescent City to play for the Baltimore Ravens according to the Baltimore Sun.
In 2015, Watson posted a career-high 74 receptions for 825 yards. It was the 35-year-old’s first year in the first string spot with the Saints since joining the team in 2013.
Watson was well liked member of the team and the community. He even was named a finalist for the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year.
Michael Hoomanawanui will most like be asked to step up to fill Watson’s cleats. According to multiple media reports, the Saints resigned the free agent today. He had 11 catches for 76 yards in 12 games during last season.
