Black n’ Gold hero Marques Colston was cut by the Saints after 10 seasons in New Orleans according to the NFL’s transaction wire.
A failed physical was cited as the official reason for the move. However, the 32-year old receiver’s numbers have been flagging in recent years and departure was not a surprise to faithful fans.
The seventh round drat pick is the Saints’ all-time leading receiver. His career numbers include 9,759 yards and 72 touchdowns. Colston also played a pivotal role as Brees’ go-to guy on third and longs. Unfortunately in 2015, he posted just 520 yards on 45 catches and four touchdowns.
The team will trim 3.2 million dollars off their salary-cap bur dropping Colston.
Loyal WhoDats will forever revere Colston for his stellar performance leading the receiving core during the 2009 championship season.
