Happy Halloween! Grab your best costumes because today in New Orleans, there are plenty of spooky ways to celebrate. It’s day 2 of Voodoo Experience, and The Sugar Mill is hosting Hell’s Gala. It’s the 20th Annual Halloween Parade at Molly’s at the Market. If you’re into vampires, consider checking out the annual Ann Rice conference, UnDead Con, at the Hilton Garden Inn! On this day in 1985, Hurricane Juan made his first of two stops in Louisiana, causing days-worth of torrential downpours. Voodoo Experience (City Park, 10:30a.m.)

 

Over at City Park, Halloween celebrations start early. The annual Voodoo Experience, a music and arts festival, brings some of the most famous musicians from around the world to New Orleans. Today, fest-goers can catch Ozzy Osborne, Jane’s Addiction, Santigold, Lettuce, Joy Wave and more!

 

Hell’s Gala (The Sugar Mill, 9p.m.)

 

Tonight, Winter Circle Productions is getting in the Halloween mood with Hell’s Gala at The Sugar Mill. Music will be provided by RL Grime, SBDR and The Bloody Beetroots. The after party will be hosted at Republic with music by C-Lab and Clutch. Doors for the after party open at 2:30a.m.

 

Jim Monaghan’s 20th Annual Halloween Parade (Molly’s at the Market, 6p.m.)

 

It’s the 20th annual creepy, Celtic roll through the French Quarter, and the Monaghans suggest parents ditch door-to-door trick-or-treating for candy and trinkets from the float. Following the parade, head to Erin Rose (811 Conti St.) for the annual killer costume contest. Creativity is a requirement, and handmade disguises are encouraged.

 

UnDead Con (Hilton Garden Inn 12:30p.m.)

 

Vampire-lovers rejoice! Today, Ann Rice, author of Interview with a Vampire, will make an appearance at this year’s UnDead Conference hosted in her honor. There will be two panels today. Naomi Grossman of American Horror Story will speak about her experience on the show and will also sign photos. The second panel will bring together experts Alys Arden, Kristin Bone, Dawn Chartier, Sarah M. Cradit and Greg Wilkey.
