NOPD Hunt Two Suspected Rapists

Detectives have discovered some clues in the case of an Aggravated Rape in the East last week. Today, the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) issued composite sketches of two suspects in the ugly incident.

According to NOPD PIO Garry Flot, a 37-year-old woman was walking down the 5400 block of Crowder Boulevard at 3:30a.m. on May 4 when a man walked up to her, gun drawn. Wielding the semi-automatic, the man demanded her money and then forced her into a car, say police.

Flot says that a second man was waiting behind the wheel and immediately drove the three of them to an unknown location where the men sexually assaulted the woman.

Sex Crimes Detective Keisha Ferdinand opened an investigation and identified two suspects.

Flot describes the first wanted man as a “dark brown complexion black male, approximately 20 years old, about 6’1” tall and about 165 pounds,” adding “he had an athletic build, low haircut, clean shaven, with a tattoo of a star and cross on the right side of his face and a tattoo of Taqueria on his back.”

The spokesperson describes the second suspect as “brown complexion black male, approximately 25-30 years old, about 5’7” tall with a thin build and an afro hairstyle.”

Detective Ferdinand can be contacted at (504) 658-5523.
