NOPD issued an arrest warrant for Cuba Gooding, Jr. today after the actor allegedly pushed a female bartender twice on Bourbon Street early this morning. According to police spokeswoman Remi Braden, Gooding walked into a bar on the 200 block of Bourbon Street around 3:00am this morning. He grew angry when fans asked to take photos with him. The bartender tried calming the actor down, when Gooding then allegedly pushed her away with an open hand.
One of the bartender’s co-workers then called 911. The bartender said she then informed Gooding that the police were on their way, and that he needed to leave. Gooding then allegedly pushed her again, and left the bar.
New Orleans police have obtained an arrest warrant for Cuba Gooding, Jr. for municipal battery, which may hamper the filming of The Butler with Oprah Winfrey.
UPDATE 3:30 p.m: Braden said the police have been in contact with Gooding's New York attorney. The attorney said Gooding will take "necessary actions." No word if that means surrendering.
