Any John Kennedy Toole can tell you New Orleans is a treasure trove of material for writers. But novelist Sara Gran found that there might be a little too much. With her new book, Claire Dewitt and the City of the Dead set to come out, the former local resident talks to The Atlantic magazine about the struggle of making a novel work in a way that is true to the many-layered City of Dreams.
