Austin Yde

Austin Yde is a student of Tulane University, doubling majoring in both political science and international development. He spent his freshman year at LSU and his sophomore year at University of Montana before returning to New Orleans to pedi-cab and play guitar for a year preceding his admittance to Tulane University. Although he was born in the western suburbs of Chicago, his parents have owned a house on the “Burgundy Bend” right outside of the French Quarter since 1996 and he has been frequenting the city ever since.

With a background in political science and experience with the New Orleans music scene, Austin writes on politics, climate change, music, and other local issues.

Austin’s interests include, spending time with his dog and cat, playing guitar at a church in New Orleans East, exploring the city via bike and foot, catching live music, and reading good books.
