Defender Picks

Joseph Santiago

Mr. Santiago has over a decade of experience working as a teacher, trainer, and facilitator, across a range of industries in and out of the US. He is a subject matter expert (SME) on utilization of blended environments to establish informational and cultural contact zones, and designing community learning networks (CLN). His experience runs the gamut of computer electronics, technical writing and creative nonfiction, information architecture, social media strategies, instructional design, managing distributed teams, and he is an internationally published author. He has applied his skills to content development for educational programs, documentaries, cultural leadership applications, workshops and training, and social change projects as a digital literacy advocate. Mr. Santiago's goal is to create works that bring about conversation, raise awareness, contrast views and opinions, entertain, inform, and share experiences of those who have struggled to be heard. In doing this he desires to encourage the unheard voice through cultural and individual expression to take part in the global conversation. He is a New Orleans author with impish curiosity and a love of ethnography. To find him you may only need to walk in to a cafe as caffeine is a muse that causes him to share more about the people and places of New Orleans.
