Woman Dons Little Black Dress, Robs 3 Cabbiesby Shay Sokol A woman that one victim said was wearing a tight black dress and a fedora robbed three United Cab drivers at gunpoint in the Irish Channel early this morning, police said. In the first incident, a cab driver arrived in the 2400 block of Chippewa to pick up a fare called in via dispatch at 3:13am. A black female entered the cab and pulled out a pistol.
She demanded money and the cabbie complied. The woman then instructed the victim to drive into a parking lot at Jackson and Chippewa, where she got out and fled in an unknown direction.
Around 4:15am, another cab driver arrived in the 500 block of Adele to pick up a fare called in via dispatch. A black female entered the cab, pulled out a gun and demanded money. The man complied, handing cash and cards. The perp, then in possession of the cabbie’s ATM card, ordered the driver to Liberty Bank at 3200 Magazine Street. The cab driver was then ordered to take $400 out of his account and hand it over. She then ordered him to drive to the 900 block of Toledano. Once they arrived, the perp got out of the cab and saw another United Cab parked on the block.
The third victim was parked on the 900 block of Toledano to pick up a fare around 4:30am. While he was waiting, he saw the other United Cab pass him and pull over. The woman got out of the cab and approached his cab. Through the opened passenger’s side door, the perp held her jacket as though she had a gun and demanded the cab driver’s money. He complied. The perp also took the cabbie’s cell phone. Then the victim’s fare approached the cab, and the perp again held her jacket in that way and demanded the fare’s money. He complied. The perp then fled riverbound on Toledano, then unknown.
One of the victims described her as also having braces, short hair, and tattoos on her arms. |
