Willie Nelson Always on Raising Cane's Owner's Mind After coming down from a scary Colorado high. Willie Nelson returns to the City of New Orleans tonight, and he has chicken fingers to thank for it.The outlaw country legend is on the second leg of a two-night stand brought to us by Louisiana's own Raising Cane's. Todd Graves, who founded the poultry powerhouse in Baton Rouge in 1996, is a huge Willie Nelson fan, and always wanted to sponsor a show. So, he agreed to be a sponsor, gave away a boatload of freebies in an effort to pack the house, and tonight he'll introduce the 79-year-old icon at the House of Blues gig.
Graves and his company also sponsored Nelson's show at the Dallas House of Blues last night.
“Willie Nelson is an American icon, a true country legend, a rebel that has charted his own course and created music that will live on for generations to come,” said Graves, according to a news release. “He represents what Raising Cane’s aspires to be in the quick service restaurant industry. That’s why we’re so proud to bring him to two of our most important markets for these special performances.”
For those who didn't get tickets to tonight's show, don't leave your blue eyes cryin' in the rain. Nelson will be back on October 21 as part of the Railroad Revival tour, in which a vintage railroad car stops at Woldenberg Park with Nelson, Band of Horses and more outlaws aboard. |
