U2 Announce New Orleans Concert

When U2 first announced their Joshua Tree tour that would take them around North and South America through the end of 2017, the Crescent City sadly did not make the cut. On Monday (6.12), Bono & Co. remedied this oversight with the announcement that they will drop by the Superdome this fall.

U2 are scheduled to play a stadium show on September 14th. The NOLA visit is part of a lengthy tour extension announced today, which also includes stops in Detroit, St. Louis, San Diego, Mexico City, Bogota, Buenos Aires, and Sao Paulo, among other cities.

The tour is in honor of the 30th anniversary of their fifth album, the powerfully politically-charged The Joshua Tree. A specialty edition of the record was released on June 2nd through Interscope Records, and includes remixes, original demos, and live recordings plus a book of photography from The Edge.

It was also announced that Grammy Award-winning artist Beck will serve as the opening act for this newly announced leg of the tour.

Tickets will go on sale Friday (6.16) at 10AM. Fans can access pre-sale tickets on Tuesday (6.13) at 10AM. To become an official fan, visit for details.
