Tonight in the Marigny: Solstice Second Line with the Bayou SteppersIn addition to the Second Line Show Down on Saturday at Tipitina's, the Sunday-heavy parade calendar is throwing the rest of the wek some more lagniappe tonight in the Marigny. The Bayou Steppers Social Aide and Pleasure Club are set to roll out from Sound Cafe (2700 Chartres Street) at 6 p.m. for a Summer Solstice Second Line. Click through for the full route and details.
The midweek march will be in lockstep with Silence is Violence, a group made up of musicians and community members working for a safer New Orleans. The king of the parade is trumpeter extraordinaire Shamarr Allen, with Hot 8 Brass Band providing the music.
