Today in New Orleans, enjoy some soft jazz from Norah Jones, Take Back the Night for victims of gender-based violence, or hop around at the Big Top for a night of pop punk. Happy Birthday to Barbara Ann Hawkins (1943), founding member of the NOLA band The Dixie Cups, famous for their songs “Iko Iko,” along with, “Chapel of Love.”  

 

 

Norah Jones (Mahalia Jackson Theatre, 8pm)

 

The Grammy-winning vocalist and pianist is making a stop in the Big Easy on her tour, bringing her soulful, velvety brand of soft jazz to the Tremé tonight. Buy your tickets here for between $65-$85. 

 

Take Back the Night (Tulane, 6pm)

 

Across the world, people are marching to end domestic violence and sexual abuse. Head to Tulane this evening and rally with survivors and activists to end the silence and stop the violence. 

 

Joyce Manor, Hop Along, I'm Fine, and All People  (The Big Top, 7pm)

 

Come out hop in the mosh pit with some of the best pop punk around. Joyce Manor is on their spring tour, and they’re stopping in the Big Easy to make an appearance at the Big Top on Clio Street.
