Today: Mardi Gras Parade Season is Off to the RacyToday, Krewe du Vieux kicks off the Carnival parade season in New Orleans with a rawkus romp through the Marigny and French Quarter, followed by Krewedelusion. Before that, the Hagar's House Costume Carnival rolls into Mid-City, and The Boat Show wraps up at the Superdome. On this day in Louisiana history, Gov. Jimmie Davis recorded "You Are My Sunshine" for the Decca label (1940). Don't let them take yours away today. Check these out:
10:00 AM Hagar's House Costume Carnival - Head over to Grace Episcopal Church in Mid-City for a benefit that helps you get your Mardi Gras wardrobe working. Running til 2 p.m., this costume bazaar offers plenty of duds, and experienced costumers to point you in the right direction. More details here. (Grace Episcopal Church)
3:00 PM The Boat Show - Whatever your pleasure in the Sportsman's Paradise, a vessel is usually required to haul in the big catch. Check out the latest and greatest aquatic vehicles on the last day of The Boat Show. Admission is $8. (Superdome)
6:00 PM Krewe du Vieux - In their 26th annual parade, the debaucherous Krewe du Vieux heads out to the streets of the Marigny and French Quarter to commit Crimes Against Nature, with Queen Deon Haywood of Women with a Vision in tow. Let the parade season begin! See where they build those floats here and get route details here. (Starts at Royal and Franklin)
7:00 PM Krewedelusion - After the weird uncle of satire finishes up, the upstarts of krewedelusion take to the streets, this year with son of the gorilla man Randy Fertel reigning as king. Their ball, The Night of Delusion, offers one $15 cover charge for access to the four bars near the corner of St. Claude and Marigny St. (Hi-Ho Lounge, Allways Lounge, Siberia, Kajun's). (Marigny) ’)

In 2009, WDSU had live video of this. I don't see it on their schedule for this year. Does anyone know of any live video feeds? I'll check the nloa.com cams to see if anything shows up too.
Any webcam links for any other parades, events would be most welcome too. Thanks!
