On this day in New Orleans history, a fire destroyed the top floor of the Cabildo (1988), first-wave jazz pioneer King Oliver was born (1885). Now back to today's action:

Treme Battle of the Bands Tipitina's (10:00 PM) New Orleans and Baltimore bands such as Galactic, Stooges Brass Band and Lafayette Gilchrist and the New Volcanoes battle it out for Simon Supremacy.
