Today in New Orleans 10.09.12

Today, head uptown to stock up on fresh foods at the Crescent City Farmer’s Market. Later on, basketball lovers can check out the Hornets preseason game at the N.O. Arena, and some big indie bands are making stops tonight on their national tours. On this day in Louisiana history (2002) the Hornets played their first preseason game, losing to Indiana. Let’s hope for a different outcome for today’s game against the Bobcats.

Hornets vs. Bobcats (New Orleans Arena, 7pm)

Hornets preseason continues today, with a home game in their own N.O. Arena against the Charlotte Bobcats. Come alone or bring the whole family out and support the city’s own NBA team!

M83 (House of Blues, 9pm)

Make your way downtown this Tuesday night and hear some French trance pop from M83. Sun Airway will open up the night, then M83 will make you dance along to tracks from their new album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming.

Dan Deacon (The Maison, 10pm)

Come out and get happy at the Maison with Dan Deacon, the indie pop sensation known for getting the crowd involved. They’re touring and playing tunes from their new album America.

Colorfeels, Nasimiyu, Sundog (Circle Bar, 10pm)

Come out and see the indie rock stars Colorfeels for the NOLA stop on their tour. Don’t miss the locals, soulful, jazzy Nasimiyu, along with our city’s indie electronic looper Sundog.

Crescent City Farmer's Market (Broadway St. Market, 9am-1pm)

Get fresh this morning at Uptown’s weekly farmer’s market. Eat some pre made delights from local chefs at the Green Plate Special Tent, or get the freshest produce around from local growers. There’s plenty of onsite parking, so stock up at the Riverbend!
