Today in New Orleans 10.30.12Halloween is just a day away, and there’s plenty to do this Tuesday night to usher in the creepy celebration. Dance all night on St. Claude, carve a pumpkin at the Country Club, or head uptown to hear Rebirth. No matter what you do, you better go in costume and get discounted admission. Today in our state’s history, the Hornets won their first NBA game, (2000) beating Utah 100-75!
Halloween Dance Party (Gabby’s Daiquiri Café, 9pm) Get your costume together and head to Gabby’s at 3200 St. Claude. Get a big daiquiri and some wings to fuel up, then dance all night and have a scary fun time to usher in Halloween.
Country Club Carving Contest (Country Club, all day) It’s the last day for you to cut up before Halloween, so buy your own carving canvas and chow down on some free pumpkin pie! Buy a pumpkin for $6 to enter the contest, and take a stab at a $25 bar tab! You get a free piece of pie just for entering the contest, so it’s a total steal. It’s the last day to enter, and the winners of the carving contest will be announced Halloween night.
Open Ears Improv Mash-up (Blue Nile, 10pm) October was a month long celebration of the Open Ears series, which has been happening every Tuesday night for five years. Tonight hear big local names like Helen Gillet, Justin Peake, Rick Trolsen, and many, many more.
Haunted House Dance Party (Siberia, 10pm) DJ Jonathan Toubin hosts tonight’s creepy event, $5 general admission and only $3 for those in costume. Come out for the costume contest and to see the secret surprise guests, and dance all night to Toubin’s collection of ghoulish tunes and Halloween themed records. |
