Swamp People Seeks Sportsmen at Auditions Saturday by E.J. Ruane Another opportunity to make it big in these Louisiana Swamps comes on Saturday, July 28. History Channel's, Swamp People, is looking for their next Swamp person. Last week's Baton Rouge auditions were held at Twin Peaks--known for their eats, drinks and scenic views. General manager for Twin Peaks, Chris Baiocco, shared it was "the perfect place for Swamp People auditions, we don't have alligator, but the guys were all taking pictures with the girls. It was a fun time.".
More fun times come tomorrow as Swamp People will hold auditions at Big Al's Seafood in Houma. From 11am-5pm the show will interview potential swampers. Tina Hellmers, GM for Big Al's explained the significance of the audition spot.
"Big Al's buys gator from R.J. and Jay Paul" (stars on the show). The restaurant has been featured on the show, Al has made appearances on the show," said Tina.
Individuals, duos and families who have experience hunting gator are welcomed to auditions. Tina explained the audition process.
"The show is going to interview all day, they know what they want and if you're not it, they'll tell you so," she said.
Whether rejected or moved on, those who audition can enjoy the Big Al experience. Guest appearances from R.J. and Jay Paul are not guaranteed, but the audition venue serves up Cajun style food--Tina says, "very true to Houma." Sticking to Louisiana swamp culture, the show seeks licensed Louisiana or Texas hunters who hold at least 50 tags.
