State of Undress: Valentine's Edition

Hey there kittens! Congratulations on surviving Mardis Gras! Did you miss me? WE HAVE SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT!

This Carnival season debuted a brand new troupe, The Foxglove Revue,  from Bella Blue. Blue reigned as Unicorn Queen in the Mystic Krewe of PUEWC, and was also voted the number 8 performer in the world by "21st Century Burlesque". Our very own Charlotte Truese also emerged onto the list at  number 46.

The summer brought the end to a few bits of regularly scheduled programming, but here in the moving, shaking, panting and gyrating organism that is the New Orleans cabaret scene, we are always thinking up new ways to delight you.

With Valentines weekend ahead, we know you are scratching your head, driving past the tents filled with pre packed plush and waxy chocolate. Why not get things started in one of our velveteen dens of wanton desire?

If you prefer a little "do good" with your foreplay, check out "Rampart is Burning." Beloved queen, Hannibelle Spector was the victim of a fire that enveloped her home and all of her wordily belongings. Her fabulous friends have been banding together in the best way possible: with a dance party, complete with performances from the aforementioned fab friends. The festivities will begin at 10p.m. at Voodoo Lounge. If you cannot attend and wish to donate to reclothe Hannibelle, you may do so here.

This weekend also features a historical event! On Valentine's day (2.14), Trixie Minx presents the first cabaret-style show in the newly renovated Orpheum Theater. A variety of performers include both local and imported talent with the option of a full dinner before the show. "Cupid's Cabaret" is billed as "a classic vaudeville show with a contemporary heartbeat" Tickets can be purchased here.
