Shaping Up: Wednesday at the Square Releases 2015 Schedule

The months ahead are filled with music and festivals, but one series of performances holds a special place in the hearts of many local. The Young Leadership Council (YLC) Wednesdays at the Square series is slated to return March 11. Today, organizers revealed the season’s schedule.

The lineup is loaded with local favorites like Irma Thomas, George Porter, Dumpstaphunk, and Big Sam. The next wave of NOLA music is also represented through acts including the Revivalists, Mia Borders, and Sweet Crude.

Admission is free. However, the YLC uses the event as a fundraiser earning money from concessions. (In the past, the YLC has supported causes such as installing lights on the Crescent City Connection). Some of the vendors include Araña Taqueria and Cantina, Cook Me Something Mister, Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant, Miss Linda the Ya-Ka-Mein Lady, Ninja Sushi, Plum St. Snoballs, and Saucy’s BBQ.

Another minor change for the upcoming season is the sponsor. Instead of Tom Benson’s Saints, the name sponsor will be Tom Benson’s Pelicans.
