Save the Picayune Cocktails Coming to 5 New Orleans Menus

Nothing goes together quite like newspaperpeople and drinking, and this isn't lost on Times-Picayune Citizens' Group member Ralph Brennan. Starting tomorrow, all of the restaraunteur's locations will be serving Save the Picayune cocktails. Playing off The Times-Picayune staff's current plight, the special line of drinks will be uniquely named for this dire hour for the employees of this moribund media outlet, and some of the proceeds will help out Da Paper's soon-to-be-"reduced" staff.

Twenty percent of the proceeds from each drink will go directly to "adversely effected" employees, according to an announcement from the Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group.

Each cocktail will cost $8, and will be available seven days a week for "the unforeseeable future." Here's the lineup of libations:

Red Fish Grill (115 Bourbon St.) will feature Picayune Punch. The cocktail is made up of Le Tourment Vert Absinthe, Cruzan rum, Lime Juice and a Pama float.

Café NOMA at New Orleans Museum of Art has the French 175 (years). The cocktail is made up of Prosecco, Bombay Sapphire, Housemade Basil  Lemonade and a lemon twist.

The Stick to 7 (days), will feature Stoli Sticki Honey Vodka with fresh Lemon Juice and finished with fresh honey syrup. It will be available at cafe b, 2700 Metairie Road.

Ralph's on the Park (900 City Park Ave.) features the Black & White and Read All Over. The drink contains Black Sambuca Della Notte, White Sambuca Romana and is finished with Soda Water

Heritage Grill (111 Veterans Memorial Blvd.) features the Say It Ain’t So…Please Don’t Go! with Housemade Nectar Syrup, Bacardi Aged Rum, splash of Soda, squeeze of Lime.

Oh yes, and I call it, "The

Oh yes, and I call it, "The Little Dicky."

I've made up one in "honor"

I've made up one in "honor" of the new publisher: it features a jigger's worth of booze in a fullsize glass and costs the same as a double.
