The ballot contains the primary candidates for the Republican and Democratic nominations as well as local party offices. Far less hyped than the race for POTUS are the Orleasn Parish Democratic and Republican Committee races. These reps help vet municipal candidates and set platforns.

Then, there are the delegates who head to the national party conventions and select the respective nominees. On the GOP side, 47 delegates are in play. On the Democrats’ end, 58 delegates are at stake. The Louisiana Secretary of State reported that over 25,000 people have all ready cast their ballot.

The primary options include the names that you know including many candidates who dropped out of the race, but still appeat on the ballot. PLus, there are some candidates you probably have never heard of. On the GOP side, they include Peter Messina and Tim Cook. Lesser known donkeys include Steve Burke, Roque "Rocky" De La Fuente, Henry Hewes, Keith Judd, John Wolfe, Michael A. Steinberg, and Willie L. Wilson.
