Police Pinch Pair for Iberville Murderby Shay Sokol Surveillance video lead police to a bust in the case of an early July murder in the Iberville housing complex on Tuesday, according to information provided by NOPD. Aldred “Al” Dixon, 17, and Demonte “D-man” Carmouche, 19, were booked on second degree murder charges for the killing of 19-year-old Terrance Lewis.
On July 8, 2012, NOPD officers on patrol near the Iberville Housing Projects heard gunfire around 10:00pm. When officers arrived at the origin of the gunshots in the 1400 block of Bienville Street, they found Lewis suffering from a single gunshot wound to his lower abdomen.
Lewis was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he died during surgery.
In surveillance video obtained by detectives, Dixon and Carmouche were positively identified as the persons responsible, police said. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for their arrest.
Police said Lewis had been involved in an on-going feud with Dixon and Carmouche for some time.
When Dixon and Carmouche were arrested on Monday, they refused to cooperate, police said. They were booked with Second Degree Murder.
Dixon has a previous arrest for disturbing the peace. Carmouche has no previous record.
Carmouche, a former student of O. Perry Walker High School, posted a picture on Facebook titled “Me,,Al,,and caine 104 GOONIES” and another picture titled “Me and young gunplay” on December 23, 2010. Carmouche's interests are "cars, money, shoes, and women" |
