Overnight Crime Report: Unclassified Death, Simple Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, Stabbing, Armed Robbery


The New Orleans Police Department saw five crimes hit the city on Thursday (8.3). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to an unclassified death, simple robbery, aggravated burglary, stabbing, and an armed robbery. 

 

At 9:48AM, an 89-year-old woman was found unresponsive on the 6900 block of Chef Menteur Hwy. after she collapsed. She was pronounced on scene by EMS. 

 

A 63-year-old man was approached at 2:16PM by an unknown man on a bicycle riding down the 7400 block of Read Blvd. The perp asked the man for a dollar, and when he complied the subject grabbed his wallet and fled. 

 

At 3:31PM, a 22-year-old woman was leaving her residence on the 7000 block of Bundy Rd. when three armed men with their faces covered approached, trying to force her back inside. She refused, and the trio allegedly put a gun to her head and threatened her before fleeing the scene. 

 

On the 10100 block of Curran Blvd., a 25-year-old man was attempting to get his cell phone from his ex-girlfriend when an altercation ensued at around 9:27PM. At some point in the fight, the woman attacked him with a crowbar and stabbed him with a knife before fleeing. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown. 

 

At 3:15AM, a 55-year-old man was picked up on the 1500 block of Franklin Ave. by an unknown subject driving a pickup truck. Both people got out of the car, at which time the driver put a gun to the man's head and demanded his money, wallet, and phone. The man complied, and the perp fled in his pickup trust with the victim's property.
