Overnight Crime Report: Two Simple Robberies, Carjacking, Armed Robbery


The New Orleans Police Department saw four crimes hit the city on Friday (8.18). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to a two simple robberies, carjacking, and an armed robbery. 

 

19-year-old Rolland Hansen was identified as the perpetrator in a simple robbery on the 100 block of Burgundy St. At 6:33AM, Hansen and a 23-year-old woman were arguing over money. An acquaintance intervened and gave the woman some money, at which time, Hansen allegedly pushed her to the ground and took the money before fleeing the scene.

 

At 12:40PM, a female employee at the Cash American Pawn Shop on the 5700 block of Crowder Blvd. was showing a subject a gold necklace when the subject grabbed the necklace and fled the scene. 

 

A 26-year-old woman was sitting in her 2015 Toyota Corrolla on the 6200 block of N. Robertson at 9:46PM when two unknown men approached from both sides of the car. The subject at the driver’s door ordered her at gunpoint to get out of the car, at which time she complied and walked towards her home. The duo then fled in her car eastbound on N. Robertson. 

 

At 1:36AM, a 62-year-old man came across a situation on the 2100 block of Pauger were a man was pointing a gun at another man on his knees, and tried to talk the would-be assailant out of what he was doing. When he walked to his truck, the perp then demanded it before fleeing in the stolen vehicle.
