The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) responded to eight crimes around New Orleans on Friday (3.10). The Major Offense Log (MOL) recorded a car jacking, a sexual assault, two robberies, two shootings, and two unclassified deaths.

At 9AM, a man suffered a gunshot wound on the 9000 block of Hickory Street. The NOPD is investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting.

On the 2400 block of N. Clairborne Ave., a 35-year-old man was getting into his car when he saw a black Chevy Impala idling nearby. The NOPD stated that the victim then heard several gun shots ring out in quick succession and realized he had been struck by a bullet. The man was brought to a local hospital for treatment.

A 24-year-old woman was victim of a robbery following an altercation with an ex-boyfriend at 8:20AM. The victim was approached by her ex on Poydras St., who then grabbed her purse and shoved her to the ground. The man then fled the scene with her belongings in hand.

The NOPD also responded to a carjacking on the 1400 block of St. Mary St. A 56-year-old woman was sitting in her car with two men approached, pulling her from the vehicle and then driving off.

At 10:17PM, a 17-year-old woman was the victim of aggravated sexual assault on the 3600 block of Inwood Ave. Detectives did not note if any suspects have been identified at this point in the investigation.

A 31-year-old man was leaving a local bar on the 100 block of Royal St. at around 1:42AM when a man came up and punched him in the face. The perp grabbed the man's wallet and cell phone before running away.

Police responded to two unclassified deaths in last 24 hours. At 10:14AM, 43-year-old man was discovered by his case worker to be unreponsive on the 3400 block of Garden Oaks Drive. On the 900 block of Filmore Ave., a 61-year-old woman's fiancé discovered her dead at 12:33AM. The MOL did not state any additional details about the circumstances surrounding these deaths.
