Overnight Crime Report: Two Muggings, Two Cuttings

Only four crimes were reported in the Major Offense Log (MOL) for Sunday (5.08). The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) responded to two Armed Robberies and a pair of stabbings.


At 2:03p.m., 50-year-old Everett Williams allegedly confronted his ex-girlfriend on the 500 block of St. Ann Street and stabbed her repeatedly with a knife. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment and Williams was arrested for Aggravated Battery by Cutting.


A 22-year-old man and his buddy were walking to a shed on 1800 block of Music Street when a stranger approached and pulled out a weapon according to the NOPD. The Department said that around 6:00p.m., the gunman proceeded to force the victim to hand over his wallet and cellphone. 


Around 10p.m., a 30-year-old woman was the victim of an armed robbery on the the 4200 block of Old Gentilly Road reported police. No additional details were available at press time.


Authorities stated that at 11:14p.m., a 42-year-old man was stabbed while trying to break up a fight between several women on the 2800 block of Pauger Street.
