Overnight Crime Report: Two Homicides, Two Rapes, Unclassified Death, Stabbing, Four Armed Robberies, Simple Robbery


The New Orleans Police Department saw eleven crimes hit the city on Friday (7.14). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to two homicides, two rapes, unclassified death, a stabbing, four armed robberies, and a simple robbery. 

 

At 7:06AM, NOPD officers arrived to the 8500 block of Jeannette St. and found an unknown male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced on scene by EMS. 

 

At 12:37PM, a known female juvenile was sexually assaulted by a family member on the 700 block of S. Broad St. 

 

At 1:40PM, a 68-year-old man was found unresponsive by a friend on the 3600 block of Marigny St. He was declared dead shortly after. 

 

NOPD officers arrived on the 6200 block of Cameron Blvd. at 2:23PM to find a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was brought to a local hospital by EMS where he died.

 

At the intersection of Chef Menteur Hwy. and Downman Rd., an unknown male and his girlfriend were sitting at a bus stop at 6:46PM when a woman on a bike approached. The bicyclist and the man got into a fight, at which point the altercation turned physical and the woman stabbed him. His current condition is unknown. 

 

At 7:00PM, a 33-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a known male on the 10100 block of Dwyer Rd. 

 

A 58-year-old woman was approached by an armed unknown man on the 6600 block of E. Hermes at 9:30PM. The man put a gun to her face and demanded money. The woman complied, and the man fled with her purse, tablet, and cell phone. 

 

At the intersection of S. Robertson and Louisiana, a 32-year-old man was approached by two male subjects at 10:49PM. The perps put a gun to him and demanded his property, making off with $900. 

 

At 12:39AM, a 35-year-old man was hit in the back of the head by a male subject who demanded his property on the 900 block of Dauphine. The victim complied, and handed over his phone, wallet, and $200. 

 

A 54-year-old man approached a male subject on the 800 block of Delery about an incident from the other day, at which time the subject produced a gun and demanded his money. The incident, which occurred at 10:08PM, saw the 54-year-old flee the scene, at which time a 36-year-old man approached. The subject then hit him with the gun and demanded money. The perp fled empty-handed. 

 

At 3:22AM, a 56-year-old man was approached on Bourbon St. by two women asking him to come have drinks with them. The man got into a car with them, at which time one of the women tried to take his wallet. When she implied she had a gun, the man handed his wallet over. The women fled with his cash at the intersection of Barracks St. and Chartres St.
