Overnight Crime Report: Three Unclassified Deaths, Armed Robbery, Homicide, Carjacking

The New Orleans Police Department saw six crimes hit the city on Wednesday (9.6). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to three unclassified deaths, an armed robbery, a homicide, and a carjacking.

At 7:02AM, a 62-year-old woman was found by a friend slumped over in the shower in a residence on the 4100 block of Iberville St. She was pronounced on scene by EMS.

At 11:36AM, a 93-year-old woman was found unresponsive by her family on the 5900 block of St. Bernard Ave. She was pronounced on scene by EMS.

The manager of a hotel on the 9300 block of Airline Hwy. was notified of a “foul odor” coming from a room at 12:22PM. He entered and found a 46-year-old man slumped over on a table. EMS pronounced him on scene.

A 21-year-old man was sitting in the park at the intersection of St. Ann St. and N. Rampart St. At around 3:34PM, a perp hit him in the face and stole his cell phone before fleeing on foot out of the park with an unknown group of people.

NOPD units arrived to the 3600 block of Kimi O’Gray at 4:54PM and found an unknown woman and an unknown man inside of a residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced on scene. The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she is listed in critical condition. No motive or suspects have been publicly identified by police at this point in the investigation.

A 31-year-old man pulled into his driveway on the 4800 block of Sierra Madre Dr. at 1:45AM as two unknown men approached. Armed with guns, the duo knocked on his window and demanded his keys and money before forcing him out of the vehicle and onto his knees. The victim was then reportedly ordered to crawl away from the car and look down, as the two men fled the scene in his red 2016 Kia Forte.
