Overnight Crime Report: Three Shootings, Two Unclassified Deaths, Simple Robbery, Carjacking


The New Orleans Police Department saw seven crimes hit the city on Saturday (9.9). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to three shootings, two unclassified deaths, simple robbery, and a carjacking. 

 

NOPD units arrives to the 900 block of N. Robertson St. at 7:04Am to find an unknown man laying in the street, unresponsive from a gunshot wound. He was brought to a local hospital. His current condition is unknown. 

 

At 1:03PM, a 78-year-old woman was found unresponsive on the floor of a residence on the 1400 block of Sere St. 

 

A 24-year-old man was approached by an unknown man on the 8500 block of Dinkins St. at 7:51PM. The subject then opened fired in his direction, striking the victim several times. The victim was transported to the hospital. His current condition is unknown. 

 

At 8:04PM, a 52-year-old man was riding his bike when an unknown man grabb his at the intersection of Dumaine and N. Galvez St. The subject grabbed him by the throat and knocked him off his bike, claiming the bike was actually his. The perp then fled on the bike. 

 

A 31-year-old woman was lying in bed in her residence on the 1400 block of Toledano St., recovering from what was termed a five-day "alcoholic binge." At 10:06PM, her boyfriend tried to wake her up but was unsuccessful. She was pronounced on scene. 

 

At 1:46AM, two 27-year-old women and a 25-year-old woman were leaving a nightclub at the intersection of Elysian Fields and N. Claiborne Ave. when they heard gunshots. They began to run and realized they had been shot. A 46-year-old man had gotten into an argument in the club and heard gunshots as he left the location. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Each victim was taken to the hospital by EMS, and their current conditions are unknown. 

 

At the intersection of Behrman and DeArmas, a 27-year-old woman and 27-year-old man were hit from behind while sitting in their car at 3:20AM. Two subjects then jumped out and demanded the car. The duo then fled in the victim's car.
