Overnight Crime Report: Three Rapes, Armed Robbery, Simple Robbery, Shooting


The New Orleans Police Department saw six crimes hit the city on Thursday (6.15). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to three rapes, an armed robbery, simple robbery, and a shooting. 

 

At 5:40AM, a 17-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on the 900 block of Marengo St. by an unknown man. 

 

At 7:22AM, a 31-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on the 600 block of Decatur St. by an unknown man. 

 

At 1:06PM, a juvenile female was sexually assaulted on the 200 block of Henry Clay Ave. by a juvenile male. 

 

34-year-old Mario Revera was arrested following an armed robbery on the 2500 block of Elysian Fields. At 5:29PM, Revera demanded a 33-year-old man give him $16 in exchange for a necklace. The victim refused, at which time Revera put a knife to his stomach and fled with his wallet, containing $300 in cash. Revera was arrested a short time later. 

 

A 56-year-old woman and her fiancé were walking on the 300 block of St. Charles Ave. when a man on a bike approached from behind at 8:19PM. The man snatched her purse from under her right arm, continuing to bike up the avenue toward Canal St. 

 

At the intersection of S. Carrollton Ave. and Earhart Blvd., NOPD officers arrived at 11:11PM to find three men suffering from gunshot wounds. Two men died at nearby hospitals. The condition of a third man, a 26-year-old, is unknown.
