Overnight Crime Report: Stabbing, Shooting, Kidnapping, Armed Robbery

The New Orleans Police Department saw four crimes hit the city on Tuesday (7.11). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to a stabbing, an armed robbery, kidnapping, and a shooting.  


A 36-year-old woman was standing at a bus stop at the intersection of Dwyer Rd. and America St. at 10:06AM when an unknown armed man approached. The subject then demanded her property, at which time she complied and he fled on foot. 


37-year-old Ashley Dorsey was arrested following an aggravated battery incident on the 3600 block of Hamburg St. At 7:46PM, Dorsey and her 25-year-old boyfriend got in an argument. At some point in the altercation, Dorsey picked up a rat tail comb and stabbed her boyfriend. He was treated on scene, while Dorsey was later located and arrested. 


At 1:50AM, a known juvenile female was last seen in a car on the 5500 block of Wilton Dr. with a 22-year-old male. The incident, which is being investigated as a simple kidnapping case, links the teen to the man through a possible social media connection. 


At 4:33AM, an 11-year-old male was asleep in bed on the 800 block of Chef Menteur Hwy. when he heard gunshots. The boy sustained a gunshot wound, and was take to University Hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown.
