Overnight Crime Report: Shooting, 4 Muggings, Toddler's Death


The New Orleans Police Department responded to a shooting, four muggings, and a dead toddler in the last 24 hours according to the Major Offense Log (MOL).

 

At 9:12a.m., 38-year-old man was robbed of his money at gunpoint by on the 1300 block of Feliciana Street according to the NOPD.

 

The MOL states that at 12:25p.m., a 34-year-old man noticed a stranger standing by his car on the 1800 block of Music Street. The stranger allegedly pulled out a gun and forced the victim to hand over his keys, wallet, and money before fleeing.

 

A 2-year-old boy died after falling into a pool on Oriole Street around 6:06p.m. reported authorities.

 

At the intersection of St. Claude Avenue and Louisa Street, a man clad in a red hoodie told a 29-year-old woman that he was packing a weapon and demanded her purse said police. A spokesperson explained that the pair then struggled over the purse before the perp won and ran off with his loot.

 

A 26-year-old man answered his door on the 2100 block St. Roch Avenue at 1:30a.m. and was immediately shot logged authorities. The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

 

At 4:33a.m. a 41-year-old woman was mugged at the corner of Henderson Street and Convention Center Boulevard. The Department reported that a man approached her from behind, threw her to the ground, stole her bag, and fled.
