Overnight Crime Report: Four Rapes, Armed Robbery, Shooting, Attempted Armed Robbery


The New Orleans Police Department saw seven crimes hit the city on Thursday (7.13). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to four rapes, an armed robbery, a shooting, and an attempted armed robbery. 

 

At 5:03AM, a known female was sexually assaulted by a known male on the 1100 block of Lakeshore Dr. 

 

At 7:52AM, a known female was sexually assaulted by an unknown male on the 400 block of N. Rampart St. 

 

An unknown armed man walked into the Shell Gas Station on the 3000 block of Elysian Fields Ave. at 3:05PM. He held a black handgun to an employee, then walked him behind a register, and grabbed an unknown amount of money. The perp then fled on foot down Treasure St. 

 

At 5:39PM, a 30-year-old male was sexually assaulted on the 2700 block of Urquhart. 

 

At 7:16PM, a 30-year-old female was sexually assaulted by an unknown male at the intersection of Elysian Fields and Gentilly. 

 

A 19-year-old male was standing outside on the 5100 block of Lakeview Ct. when “four to five” young men walked by. At 7:54PM, one of the subjects began shooting at the teen, who suffered a graze wound. He was brought to the hospital for treatment, but his current condition is unknown. 

 

At 2:00AM, a 51-year-old man was standing outside when he was approached by two armed men on the 2100 block of Westbend Pkwy. The duo demanded money, and when the man said he had none the perps fled.
