Oranges't Ya Coming? Ingram Courts Auburn Allumn

Almost exactly a year ago, Mark Ingram learned that he would remain a Saint. In the time since, the visibly relaxed running back has whole-heartedly embraced New Orleans. Now, he is even helping the Saints out in their effort to recruit free agent defensive tackle Nick Fairley.

Taking to social media, Ingram tweeted, “@Nick_Fairley251 come on down to the big easy fam…” followed by a string of emoticons.

Earlier, safety Kenny Vaccaro made his own Twitter effort, writing, “come join the squad big bro.”

The Saints are the leading contenders to sign Fairley according to numerous media reports. After four years with the Detroit Lions, the tackle played one season with St. Louis Rams.

However, Ingram’s connection with Fairley goes back to their college days. While the Heisman winner was playing at Alabama, Fairley was across the state at rival Auburn. Both players went in the first round of the 2011 draft. Ingram has remained an avid supporter of the Tide. Comically, after losing a 2013 bet, he was forced to spend a day decked out in Auburn Orange (pictured above).
