NOLA Weather and Tropical Outlook: June 23-27
by Patrick J. Pearson
Expect another good chance of showers and thunderstorms for Monday. Have kept chance probability of precipitation in for Monday again the main threats will be heavy rain...gusty winds and frequent lightning.
Additional weak shortwaves/disturbances will move across the central Gulf Coast region on Tuesday. Precipitable water is expected to be lower...but still in the 1.6 to 1.9 inch range. Diurnally driven...scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop.
The models have come into better agreement going through the middle to latter part of the week. A shortwave moving across the Southern Plains on Wednesday should allow for a slightly better chance of rain again before high pressure strengthens again and lowers rain chances Thursday through next weekend.
