Mayor Mitch Landrieu's Son Arrested for DWI Benjamin Landrieu (via Orleans Sheriff) The 19-year-old son of Mayor Mitch Landrieu was reportedly arrested for Driving While Intoxicated early Tuesday morning. According to WWL radio, Benjamin Landrieu was involved in an accident around 2:30 a.m. WDSU is reporting that the crash occurred at Zimple and Broadway, and that Benjamin Landrieu failed a breathalizer test. He was booked around 6:30 a.m. The mayor issued a statement on the incident. Click through to view.
"I love my son," Mayor Mitch Landrieu said in a prepared statement. "There will be legal consequences for his actions in the court room. And there will be family discussions in our living room. I have asked that all protocol be followed, and he will be treated just as any other citizen. We ask that you respect our family's privacy during this difficult time." |
