Master Barista Heads to CBD Next Weekby Mary-Devon Dupuy Coffee snobs and everyday caffeine addicts alike can look forward to next week’s espresso extravaganza. Monday and Tuesday nights in the CBD, restaurants Merchant and Domenica are teamed up to host illy Master Barista Giorgio Milos.
Milos got his coffee credentials from the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe, and he’s offering his expertise in authentic Italian illy espresso.
Milos will be at restaurants Merchant (800 Common St.) as well as Domenica (123 Barronne) on Monday and Tuesday nights. Merchant co-owner Chris Brancato is already feeling energized about the barista’s visit.
"Two of the coolest venues in the city, hosting one of the World's premiere coffee experts," Brancato said by way of summarizing the event.
Monday night, Milos will “demystify” your coffee for you from 6:30-8pm in an educational coffee class at Merchant, and they’ll provide wine and crepes to tame your caffeine buzz. The next night, Domenica serves up pizza and prosecco from 7:30-10pm, but dessert will truly be the main course. Diners and drinkers can choose from Milos’ own pairings, and with pastries provided by Chef Lisa White. Get ready to take your coffee appreciation well beyond the counter and bring culinary tricks into your own morning mug.
So how much for all the wine, crepes, pairings, and education that you could ask for in two days? Tickets are $100. |
