John Mulaney to Bring 'Kid Gorgeous' to NOLA

John Mulaney will say Oh, Hello to New Orleans this fall with a new stand-up show at the Mahalia Jackson Theater, it was officially announced via the comedian’s social media on Thursday (6.15).

The writer-actor-comedian will bring his new touring special Kid Gorgeous to town on October 15th. Following a sold-out first leg, Mulaney announced the NOLA visit as part of a lengthy 35-date tour extension, which also includes stops in Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, and Las Vegas, among other cities.

The former SNL writer most recently played New Orleans when he dropped by the Civic in January 2015 in support of his sophomore special, The Comeback Kid. Mulaney is known as one of the top comedic talents in the country, having created some of the most memorable characters on the live variety show during the early 2000s (Bill Hader’s nightclub enthusiast Stefon was his imagining) and taking on the Seinfeld sitcom mantle with his short-lived Mulaney. In his standup work, which includes his first album The Top Part, his lauded special New in Town and last year’s Kid, Mulaney takes on everything from Bill Clinton, alcohol addiction, married life, and Ice T's role on Law & Order: SVU.

He is fresh off a successful Broadway run of his show Oh, Hello, the tale of two elderly, disgruntled New York men with a penchant for pranking people with too much tuna. A taping of the live show was released Tuesday (6.13) on Netflix, with a lengthy run of sketches also featured in his co-creator Nick Kroll’s sketch comedy series, The Kroll Show

Fans can access pre-sale tickets on Monday (6.19) at 10AM. To gain access, simply sign up for the comedian’s newsletter and a special code will be sent to purchase early. Limit 4 tickets per person.
