Inspector General: Sewerage and Water Board All Wet on Raising RatesTo the chagrin of pretty much everyone except the Sewerage and Water Board, the Sewerage and Water Board recently put a proposal to raise what citizens pay by 80 percent rate over the next five years in the pipeline. Mayor Mitch already tried to put a hold on the hike, which would be spread out over the next five years, for financial reasons. Today, Inspector General Ed Quatreveaux upped the ante by pointing out the fact that the Board wants more money when their director is set for a $877,000 retirement payment, and they own more than 100 take-home cars. |
