Inmate Larry Ard on the LooseLarry Ard A few months ago, inmate Dwayne young was loose in City Park, wearing only green underpants. Today, the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for a less comical criminal, 53-year-old Larry Ard. The inmate made his way out of Temporary Housing, commonly referred to as “tents,” last night, somewhere between 11pm and 12am. Ard was in OPSO custody for purse snatching and a parole violation.
The inmate broke free through a pipe chase, eventually cutting his way out of the exterior of the tent. He was discovered missing during a security check this morning at 12:30am. Ard scaled a razor-wire fence on the last leg of his spring from jail, and police suspect he sustained injuries during his escape.
OPSO has already notified the NOPD and the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, but they might need your help. If anyone has information about Ard’s whereabouts, call the OPSO at 504-827-8505. Ard is 5'11" tall, and is likely injured from his escape route. |
